Age Range Classes
Your child must fit into the specified age range as of August 31, 2011. For example, if your child is 10 months as of August 31st, you will choose the 6 – 12 months class or the family class. You will stay in the class the entire school year and the toddlers will all grow together.
Family Class
Our family class is open to those attending with 1 or 2 children of their own born between August 1, 2008 and August 1, 2011. One or both parents are welcome to attend!
Pre-Preschool Class
The Pre-Preschool class at LWTG is designed for children ages 30-36 months as of August 31st. In addition to the normal schedule of a 24-36 month class, this class incorporates activities to promote learning of pre-academic skills. The smaller age range and class size is beneficial as the children progress to cooperative play. Each week, a child does show and tell which allows them the opportunity to bring a favorite item from home and begin to feel comfortable speaking in front of a group. The other children love to ask questions and they usually share something about themselves. This is often the favorite part of class for the parents.
There are monthly science activities which take place during free time. Examples include making pudding, sink and float, dinosaur fossils, and making butter. An extended circle time allows for counting, color, and movement games. As the year progresses, children become accustomed to participating in the group for longer periods of time. In the spring there is a field trip to the Gold Creek Trout Farm.
This class can be a great stepping stone to preschool. You might even consider this class if your child will attend a drop-off preschool. Parents attend with their child each week which allows you to continue to observe your child’s development among his or her peers.
Sibling Spots
Siblings spots are also available in many of our classes. Siblings must be less than 12 months old as of August 31, 2011 with the exception of the Pre-Preschool class. Siblings must be less than 6 months old as of August 31, 2011 to enroll in the Pre-Preschool class.
Twins enrolling in a siblings class will still pay the twin tuition fee.
